| Project Background |
|
| The ^Nation No 1 Project ̄ is a national
tobacco industrial information network mandated by the State
Tobacco Monopoly Bureau of China. RFID technology is the key
technology in building such a nation wide monitoring and management
system of tobacco manufacture, transportation and storage.
The Customer is a state-owned tobacco company that controls
manufacture and sales of tobacco in a province. After thoroughly
test and comparison, the Customer chose Invengo's RFID Solution
for Logistic and Warehouse Management for the pilot of Nation
No 1 Project at one of its cigarette factories and two of
the warehouses in March 2005. |

The main components of Invengo's RFID Solution
for Logistic and warehouse management includes XCTF-5013 Electronic
Tag, XCRF-500W and XCRF-500D Reader/writer, XCAF-11 Linear
Polarized Antenna and XCRF-520A Multi-Functional Cart. XCTF-5013
Electronic Tag is designed to be embedded into pallet; it
also has a memory space that is big enough to store barcode
data of entire pallet load. XCRF-520A Multi-Functional Cart
is designed to with on-board RFID reader/writer, computer,
LCD display and wireless communication device, since barcode
system is still widely used in Chinese tobacco industry, Invengo's
RFID Solution combines RFID system with existing barcode system
to in order to protect customers' past investments. |

| Success |
|
The pilot project is completed by Oct 2005 and has being
operated smoothly. The RFID solution not only satisfies the
mandate of ^National No1 Project ̄, but also generates great
beneficial result for the Customer. From manufacture to point
of sale, it shortens operating time, reduces human error and
leads to more visualized supply chain and better assets management
by enabling automatic identification and real time tracking
of each item. And because the pallet tag contains barcode
data of entire pallet load, the pallet information can be
obtained by a single tag scan instead of unloading pallet
and case by case scanning, which results in great reduction
in labor force and time. The Customer is very satisfied with
the result of the pilot project, and planning to extend RFID
implantation to all 11 cigarette factories and 17 warehouses
in the province.
